1969/1970 Gibson Super 400 CES in excellent condition and all original. This guitar very likely was built in 1969 and shipped in 1970 which explains the 1970 serial number and “Made in USA” imprint on the back of the headstock which are actually the only “features” that lead to 1970. It still has the 1969 Gibson logo, no volute and the pots are dated 137.69.32 (32th week of 1969). The guitar shows some minor play wear, a bit worn off gold hardware and a small and very well repaired crack on the back which is barely visible at all. Gibson’s top-of-the-line guitar – all-time classic and one of the most desired archtops ever made. This is a clean and beautiful example with great playability and tone!
