1958 Fender Stratocaster Gold Hardware – Two
Tone Sunburst (1957 specs)
Art.Nr. Fe57StrSBGH023361
Super rare early 1958 (full 1957 spec) Stratocaster in Two-Tone Sunburst with factory gold hardware. Only a very few guitars have been shipped with gold hardware – of course the famous Mary Kaye model – this is her Sunburst sister! What a wonderful guitar. Aged to perfection! The specs are full-on 1957 with a big V-profile neck, 8/57 neck date, 1957 pots and Two-Tone Sunburst finish. The body date is hard to read but we’re pretty sure it says 1-58, which would be realistic. The first 2-3 months in 1958 still have the 1957 specs. The guitar has the gold truss rod screw (worn off on the surface but still gold inside the slots) – a must-have for all 50s gold hardware Fenders – all other metal parts are gold as well. All screws, the jack plate, tuners. In addition to that we have two pictures from the original owner from the early 1960s – one in color – that show the guitar. The guitar is covered with weather checking, especially the neck is completely checked. It has newer jumbo frets for perfect playability. The gold hardware has aged and worn off during time but it’s still recognizable. The middle pickup has been rewound, which becomes almost normal these days, especially for Strats that have been used – otherwise it’s original, still with the 3-way switch. Comes incl. its original case.
