Beautiful early 1957 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop in excellent condition! This guitar has been purchased by the original owner – the famous Swedish guitarist Rune Gustafsson in 1957 in Gothenburg/Sweden. He played it his whole career and when he passed, his family sold the guitar. Its all original besides the first 10 frets have been replaced. Like all official export models it has the “Made in the USA” stamp above the serial number. The pots are dated to 1956 – its one of the last models with the P90s before they switched to humbuckers later in 1957. Superb sounding guitar! The neck is not huge at all, rather a very comfortable profile. The guitar can be heard of many many records, its been pictured on album covers and has a well known history in Sweden – one of those rare guitars with a true European history which makes it a very unique example. Great weight with just under 4Kg. Comes incl. its original “Cali Girl” case (restored).
