1956 Fender Stratocaster
Sunburst
Art.Nr. FE56STRAT10752
This gorgeous early 1956 Fender Stratocaster belonged a good friend of GuitarPoint, a professional player who bought it back in 1992 in Germany. It’s been in his possession ever since and now it will be passed to the next caretaker. A March 1956 Stratocaster, body and neck are dated 3-56, but it definitely feels more like a 55ish Strat than a 56 – one piece ash body with deep body contour and a fat round neck profile maybe with a slight hint of a V if you are really searching for it. The neck feels just right, worn and smooth. 50s perfection. Of course still the bakelite plastic parts. In mid 56 they switched to alder for the body wood. The guitar has been played. There are plenty of battle scars, there are deep contours in the fretboard from typical Blues scales and deep imprints from the tremolo arm. The former owner definitely took no prisoners – he rocked that thing! The guitar is in surprisingly original condition: all parts are original, pickups, pots, plastics – it’s all there. There was a treble bleed installed and the bridge pickup was connected to the tone pot – both has been removed and everything else remains untouched. The guitar has been refretted in the 90s and still has some life left. This thing is so cool, you don’t find them beat up like that but yet original often. Amazing piece of history, owned by a well known german musician and used live and on a few recordings. Comes incl. it’s original Tweed case.
