This guitar is one of a small run of 5 pieces – the result of a trip to the Gibson Custom Shop in Nashville Tennessee in April 2023. We hand picked the maple tops specially for this guitar. “Factory Burst” is one of our favorite color shades of the Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul Sunburst finishes. Basically this is a pure and simple Cherry Sunburst – that exact color the original Les Pauls left the factory with between mid 1958 and early 1960. The first time Gibson came up with that name was when they released a very small run of the CC#2 Goldie in a version “like it left the factory in 1959” – we still remember that color as being that wonderful deep and rich cherry sunburst so we needed to have our very own run of these guitar. The maple they had in the factory was outstanding so we went through the pallets of tops and picked only the best for you – with the help of our long time friend Tom Murphy who passed by to say hi. This guitar is stunning. The perfect VOS Les Paul, the perfect 1959 reissue. This is the pinnacle of 30 years Custom Shop – created by Gibson and GuitarPoint for you!
