Serial number 008! 2014 Gibson Les Paul Skinnerburst Tom Murphy Aged with super nice flamed maple top! The Gibson Custom Shop did an exact replica of Joe’s famous 59 Les Paul nicknamed “Prinicipal Skinner” or “Skinnerburst” after the Skinner auction house where the guitar was sold. After owning dozens of Bursts, Skinner is still one of his all-time-favorite guitars. This Custom Shop run was sold out really quick and is still one of the most sought after limited runs. Since we sold a huge amount of Les Pauls, also all CC runs and Artist models we can confirm that the early serial numbers are usually the best – since they are usually the closes to the originals when it comes to look and aging. This model is serial number 008 – which is a huge bonus. Aged by the master himself, Tom Murphy, it also has his famous signature “TM” as weather checking under the bridge pickup volume pot.
