Killer Les Paul! This 1997 Custom Shop “Flametop” 1958 Reissue looks just stunning – those years were the golden era for maple tops and although not 100% “historically correct” to the last little spec, most collectors and players consider the 1990s Les Pauls as the best. This one looks just beautiful…fat flames all over and a nice Butterscotch finish. The Custom Shop had a super low output compared to the numbers today, the only did a few R8s. This guitar has been played, there are some scratches and wear. There are 3 new pots, new TAD caps, new knobs and pickguard. But besides those small cosmetic changes everything is original – two 57 Classic humbuckers, Gibson ABR-1 and stoptail. No COAs in 1997 – they came later. The neck is more on the 59ish side, definitely not huge as they became in the 2000s. Comes incl. original case.
