1996 Gibson Les Paul Standard 1959 Reissue – Sunburst

Super nice 1996 “Good-Wood-Era” Gibson Custom Shop 1959 Les Paul Reissue. Back then when they only did a few each year and they were really rare finds in the shops! This one has an exceptionally good maple top, fat deep stripes all over, and the “Heritage Darkburst” finish. The neck has been refinished at some point and has V-shape profile, very special actually, not too thick, feels just right! We can’t tell if the refin was done since the neck was reshaped or for some other reason – there are no breaks for sure. The guitar has also been “modded” by it’s former owner, the trussrod cover and tailpiece are replacements, the bridge is a newer Gibson Custom Shop ABR-1. The pickups and electronics are original. This is why it’s not over 7K and priced well for a mid 90s Killertop Les Paul! The guitar has a Rosetti warratny card (former UK distributor) – there were no Custom Shop COAs in 96. Comes in original case.
