Beautiful and clean 1965 Fender Stratocaster in Sunburst finish. Small headstock pre/CBS-CBS transitional guitar similar to a late 1964 model but already with the white pickguard – but before they switched to the big headstock in late 65. There is some typical play wear – most notably some buckle wear on the back but it remains exceptionally clean overall. What a great sounding guitar! Pure 60s Strat tone with great output! The guitars is in original condition, with only a few minor changes: The output jack and its wiring have been professionally replaced. There’s a filled hole from a previously added second string tree, as well as two tiny spots with missing finish on the side of the headstock—likely from an old dealer badge. The backplate is missing and another backplate has been formerly installed.
A fantastic example from the transitional CBS era, with tons of vintage character and collector appeal. Especially the front is super clean and its an outstanding vintage piece. Comes in a non-original case.
