1979 Rickenbacker Bass 4002 – Mapleglo
Extremely rare Rickenbacker 4002 bass in Mapleglo/natural finish in excellent+ condition. The bass is super clean and all original. There are no exact production numbers of the 4002 but it’s common sense that there are less than 200 made between 1977-1984 – some even say less than 50 pieces in total. It was designed as a high-end alternative to the 4001, featuring distinctive elements such as low-impedance “super high gain” humbucking pickups positioned differently from those on the 4001, an ebony fretboard, Deluxe block binding and a body constructed from Birdseye and curly maple. The available colors were Autumnglo and Mapleglo. Due to its limited production run and unique features, the 4002 is considered one of the rarest Rickenbacker bass models. Collectors and enthusiasts often refer to it as “rare as hen’s teeth,” highlighting its scarcity in the market. Now there is your chance to get one! This bass came from a collection in Germany and barely ever has been played. It sounds so good – even acoustically! Great low action! Comes incl. 70s Rickenbacker case.
