1975 Gibson Marauder - Wine-Red

1975 Gibson Marauder - Wine-Red incl. black hardshell case

The Gibson Marauder models where made between 1974 till 1979 and it was Gibsons attempt to break into the Fender dominated "Bolt-on" / single-coil market, though in fact Marauders had two humbucking pickups. The body was a contoured Les Paul - style solid-body made of alder and the bolt-on neck was made of maple with a rosewood fretboard. The headstock was similar to the headstock of a Flying V. The design had limited succes and was discontinued in 1979. This instrument is in good condition for its age and all original, except the factory humbuckers have been replaced with DiMarzzios (one can be split). The sound is actually very good, clean as well as distorted, with some attack from the bolt-on construction. Interesting and affordable guitar. Incl. black hardshell case.
