1975 Gibson Les Paul Standard – Sunburst

All-original 1975 “Pre-Standard” Gibson Les Paul Deluxe with Factory Humbuckers

This is a rare and beautiful example of a transitional Les Paul from 1975 — technically still a “Deluxe,” but equipped from the factory with full-size humbuckers. While the Les Paul Standard was officially reintroduced in 1976 after a 16-year absence, Gibson had already been producing humbucker-equipped Les Pauls throughout the early ’70s as special runs or custom orders, often for large dealers like Sam Ash. Most of these guitars still carried the “Deluxe” designation on the truss rod cover and/or serial number decal, just like this one.

This particular guitar is all-original except for a professional refret and it had Grovers once. The original tuners are back on. It features untouched solder joints and a pair of original patent-stamped T-top humbuckers — known for their articulate tone and classic ’70s character.

1975 was the first year Gibson introduced the three-piece maple neck and the Nashville-style bridge, but this example still has the short-lived and rare harmonica bridge, which sets it apart even further.

The beautifully aged Honeyburst finish has faded to a warm, vintage patina, and the three-piece maple top includes a nicely flamed center section — subtle but stunning.

Includes the original Gibson hardshell case with red plush interior.
