Super clean early 1969 Gibson Les Paul Standard Goldtop in excellent+ condition. Transitional model with all 1968 specs but already the same larger headstock size of the Custom model which Gibson introduced to increase efficiency and provide only one size for both, the Standard and the Custom models. This one still has the long neck tenon, one-piece body & neck and the black bobbin P 90 pickups but already the bigger headstock size. It’s been in production for a few weeks before the three-piece neck was introduced and the Standard transformed into the pancake body Deluxe end of 1969. This guitar is outstanding clean and all original with untouched solder – with the exception that had other tuners installed. The original double line double ring style Klusons from a bit later are back on. The tuner shaft holes on the back are slightly enlarged but fortunately there are no additional screw holes in the headstock back. The Les Paul is pretty lightweight with a little under 4 kg and has a big 50s neck profile. Plays and sounds as great as it looks – very resonant guitar! Comes incl. original rectangle case and manual.
