1968 Gibson Les Paul Custom
Ebony
Art.Nr. GI68LPC-520304
One of the most sought after Gibson guitars – a 1968 Les Paul Custom. These guitars are a big historical step for Gibson since they are the first Les Paul Customs with a maple top, as we know it today. 7 years after Gibson shipped that last full-mahogany Customs they were re-introduced with very close specs, the above mentioned maple top and a 14 degree headstock angle. Long neck tenon, a set of patent sticker humbuckers and that wonderful piano black Ebony finish. This example is in all original condition except that the tuner holes are enlarged (on the back only) for Grovers using the same screw holes as the waffle backs and a professional refret – the original fretless wonder frets are simply not fulfilling today’s standard. We rarely get those in so its a great opportunity for you to score a “real” 1968, not an early 1969 with 1968 specs (note that those with the 137.68.50 pot codes are obviously 1969 models already). Including original case with yellow plush & “Bruce” Handle.
