1961 Gibson Les Paul SG Standard
Cherry
Art.Nr. GI61SGSTD27850
1961 Gibson Les Paul SG Standard in Cherry finish – purchased from a long-time owner who bought it in Germany many decades ago. The guitar has a headstock repair but no heel crack like many SGs. The finish is original as well as the two PAF humbuckers and all other parts – except for the pickup covers which are nice repros. We installed the Mojoaxe VibroStop to make the dysfunctional art-deco side ways vibrato stop from de-tuning the guitar and not it acts as a super cool looking stoptail – which makes sense for everyone who would actually play the guitar. The additional screw hole on the pickguard next to the bridge pickup mounting ring appeared in 1964 so we assume its been a „fix“ done by a former owner. Gibson changed that in 1962/63 because the pickguards warped. Such a great sounding instrument – it does exactly what those guitars are known for – and its a lot more than AC/DC: the Les Paul SGs have their unique clear tone, they are actually perfect guitars for clean articulate jazzy sounds with great string separation! Comes incl. original case.
