1960 Fender Stratocaster
Sunburst
Art.Nr. FE60STRAT57810
Nice 1960 Slabboard Stratocaster! This late 1960 model has some minor modifications that make it a lot more affordable than an all original guitar from that year/period. The so-called “Slabboard” models were produced between mid 1959 until mid 1962 and were the first Stratocasters with rosewood fretboards, glued to the maple necks with a flat surface on the bottom as opposed to the later “curve-board” versions. The larger amount of rosewood make the guitars sound a little bit darker and warmer usually. This is a great example of those desired models. The neck has been refinished (excluding the headstock so the original Fender decal is untouched) and the body has s few touched up and over-sprayed spots – but mostly the finish is original and untouched as well. The hardware is also original but two pots may be from a different year. The top of the pickguard has been repaired (newer tip added). Otherwise it’s original, the pickups have the original wire. Neck and body are dated 11/60 and 12/60. Great sounding guitar with the then still deeper body contours. Coems inc. original brown tolex case with new latches.
