1956 Gretsch 6136 White Falcon
A true unicorn and holy grail guitar! Some guitars make most collectors and vintage-enthusiasts freak out... this is one of less than 100 Gretsch White Falcon made between 1955 and 1956 - between 80 and 90 guitars have been produced in 3 batches and 1956 is the second year of production. A once in a lifetime opportunity...this guitar has been in a collection in Germany since the mid-90s and was stored away in the case until this year. It is in excellent condition and all original - besides the bridge pickup ring has been changed, original broken rind comes with the guitar. It is the first version with D'Armond pickups and it has been played. There is some serious play wear on the back of the neck and where the arm touches the body. And it has nicely yellowed clear coat: Perfect vintage patina. The guitar had a neck reset which is common on most Gretsches in this period - you can see the bright white areas that are original color with missing/worn off clear coat. The action is low and the neck feels super nice, round and smooth! Comes in it's original grey/silver Gretsch hardshell case, matching white strap and cable.
