1956 Fender Stratocaster
Sunburst
Art.Nr. FE56STRAT-15546
Some guitars never leave your mind. They stay in your memory for years, even long after you last saw them. This 1956 Strat is one of those guitars. It was our benchmark — it was the one. When we sold it, we were almost a little sad. Time and again, we asked its owner whether he might be willing to part with it again. And now the time has come: it’s back! At the Fender Custom Shop, “10/56” stands for the perfect V-neck — apparently, they took the measurements from an original 10/56 example. This is a ’56 Strat with both a 10/56 neck date and body date. Quite simply, it has a perfect, substantial V profile, exactly the way you would want it. This guitar has been played and is well beyond mint condition — which is exactly how it should be. The moment you hold it in your hands, you’ll understand why. It is perfection. The guitar is still completely original; only the volume pot had been replaced at some point, but the original was still in the case and we have reinstalled it. Other than that, everything is exactly as it should be. It still has its polystyrene pickup covers and knobs (often incorrectly referred to as “Bakelite” in the vintage world). The body is already alder — 1956 was the transition year — and it has the deep body contours that were only this pronounced during the short 1956–57 period.
The sound is absolutely to die for. The guitar comes in its original tweed case.
