1954 Fender Telecaster Blackguard - Blond
This beauty we just brought over from Texas: 1954 Blackguard Telecaster in great condition. The last year of the blackguard with all the right features - already steel saddles but the serial number on the bridge, both neck and body are dated to September 1954 (TG 9-54 and 9/54). It has that big round 54 neck profile, the yellowish butterscotch blackguard color and of course the original black pickguard. The guitar has three additional holes under the pickguard, same size as regular pickguard holes, the bridge pickup has been wax potted, the electronic has been converted to modern wiring (no muddy neck pickup - way better since the middle position is now usable) and there is some light sanded lacquer on the headstock but the logo is still 100% intact. The lacquer is original, no oversprays or refinished parts. It obviously has been played, loved and used...just as the really good ones are. Wonderful tone, great playability, especially since the back of the neck is worn and the guitar has been refretted with jumbo frets. The pickups read 7,59K(N) and 5,61K(B) and the weight is 3,44Kg. Blackguards are amongst - if not THE - most sought after guitars out there and especially in Europe it's not easy to find the real deal...this is it. Comes incl. original Tweed case (which lost it's color on the road).
