We are celebrating some of our rarest vintage pieces that we found, purchased and sold during the years and make them available as Custom Shop reissues. This is not an „Amos“ – although its from the same breed: It’s a replica of an incredible 1958 Flying V we had in the shop. The “Dixie V” is an original first batch 1958 Gibson Flying that has quite an interesting story since we were the first since decades to discover its real heritage. Its pictured in the famous “Gibson Electrics” book by the late André Duchossoir. It was believed for many decades that it was one of the Vs that shipped in the very early 60s – like a couple of them actually did, built from original leftover bodies with later parts, but it’s 8-2705 – a guitar that is logged in the 1958 gibson factory ledgers confirmed by Gibson as being shipped in May 26 1958 to the Dixie Bargain Center in Maryland. As in Duchossoir’s book we wanted Gibson Custom to recreate the guitar with ABR with nylon saddles and black reflector knobs and also with the neck pickup swapped upside down – like Greeny. The outcome is once again just perfect. Its lightly aged by the Murphy lab and just one of the best Korina Vs yo can buy new. Available now. Only at GuitarPoint. Where else?!
