The queen of all Custom Shop guitars. We have a long history of with the Gibson Custom Shop and have been in Nashville picking maple tops for Les Pauls for over 15 years. During our last visit in October 2021 we picked some really outstanding highly figured maple tops for some guitars we wanted to be nothing but the best of the best. That’s why we asked master luthier Tom Murphy to paint them for us. The outcome is even beyond our expectation… these might be the best Gibson Custom guitars we’ve seen so far. The necks feel spot on 59, the tops, the color… the pinnacle of “new” Les Pauls. Gibson stopped offering the “Murphy painted” option a while ago so it’s not possible to order them anymore. Here you have it… the top of the line model, not over-aged – just right. We always choose the “light aged” option since it’s the most authentic one. some checking and a few dongs. GuitarPoint knowledge, Tom Murphy art and Gibson Custom Shop craftsmanship combined in one guitar. This one has a color and top as close to our Bursts as it gets – really crazy when you see them next to each other. Also the neck feels the same!
