Here it is…the first run of guitars we ordered from our good friend Nacho Baños. Built to our very own specs. We had many Black- and White Guard Telecasters over the last decades and always admired Nacho’s work – he probably is the world most respected expert for those magical 50s Fender guitars, well known for his books “The Blackguard Book” and the recent “The Pinecaster Book”.
With an amazing attention to detail he also creates his own versions, replicas of the original design with and tone and feel that you can’t get in modern mass production. We’re glad to have our own little run of guitars we spec’d together with Nacho – the essence of the Blackguard myth at a way more affordable price but with a lot of the mojo of the originals!
This guitar is the authentic recreation of an early Blackguard with our favorite neck profile. We just love that soft and smooth V that makes your hand feel comfortable – just like it was meant to fit right in like a perfect glove. Nice authentic aging, well broken in feel. Super lightweight!

Specs

Early 50s style Spanish solid body Blackguard.

Body date is TG 11/10/51. Neck date is TG 10/22/52. Control cavity tape reads Mary 2/7/52.

Maple neck, 9.5” fret board radius with Medium 95/47 frets, early to mid 1950s style medium Soft V profile neck, very comfortable to play and easy for string bending.

Neck Dimensions are 0,89"/1,01" depth at 1/12 fret; 1,67"/2,02" width at 1/12 fret.

This neck has a very authentic vintage feel and a very comfortable grip.

Very lightweight example at 3,14 Kg / 6 Pounds 15 Oz.

Aged Butterscotch nitro lacquer finish on ash body with plenty of dings and wear marks mostly around the edges. Plenty of playing wear is present on fingerboard and back of neck.

Neck pickup reads 8,25k ohms. Bridge pickup reads 10,16k ohms.

The guitar comes with a black phenolic resin pickguard which has been cut, laquered and aged to early 1950s standards.

Electronic configuration includes the powerful humbucking mode in the middle position: neck pickup + both pickups in series + bridge pickups all with tone control.
