This is a cool one! The Gibson Custom Shop “Solid Formed 17″” (what a beautiful name for a guitar… Gibson was really creative back then) was a short lived model that existed between 2015-2018 and was a new creation by the Gibson Crimson team. They came up with a modernized top-of-the line archtop guitar that had a solid top that was not carved like the L-5 it was rather pressed in shape. Those guitars sound really really good! This one is the very first prototype of that run, with a Florentine cutaway! There is the official spec sheet attached showing many changes – a really cool part of modern Gibson history! The guitar is super resonant, a very very good sounding piece! Its a big guitar, full 17″ body and long 25.5″ scale. We brought this one over directly from Nashville!
