Maybe one of the best ES Reissue we’ve seen so far… if you know some Gibson insights you might be well aware that this period in the mid 2010s was a very good – if not the best – era for Gibson Memphis reissues. The ’63 and ’59 ES-335 reissue have been built in the Nashville Custom shop constantly without anybody caring for improving their authentic construction. They have been great instruments but were always under the radar. Then the Memphis factory, who built the regular ES production guitars, started doing “their own” reissues. Mike Voltz, a Gibson veteran and person in charge at the Memphis factory, took the 335 reissue to a whole new level. He purchased original vintage pieces, analyzed them carefully and took a lot of effort into “product development”. It’s been a friendly competition between Memphis and Nashville but most players and collectors agree that the Memphis guitars were really on point. This guitar is a perfect example…great color, great neck (not thin at all, rather round) and great tone. Comes incl. original case, COA and warranty card.
