Very nice limited run from 2011 – In-house Aged 1958 Les Paul Standard in Washed Cherry. Gibson came up with “In-house aging” to have something to compete with the expensive Murphy aging since Tom wasn’t employed by Gibson back then and charged a lot for his work. They trained some poeple in the Custom Shop to age guitars. The result varied a bit back then, some guitars were awfully aged and didn’t look any good but this one looks really nice. Authentic weather checking and not too much aging at all. It’s got a nice backstory too, it was carefully selected by a german dealer from a whole bunch back then and was the best sounding one that he kept from himself. And indeed its a really really good one! The finish already faded a bit – really cool. The guitar has been played so there are some dings and dongs. Big beefy neck! Guitar comes with all paperwork and original case.
