2011 Fender Custom Shop John Cruz 1959 Stratocaster Closet Classic – Vintage Blonde

Some guitars are really special. This is one of them. Of course it’s special since it’s a John Cruz Masterbuilt 1959 Stratocaster in the lovely “Mary Kaye” outfit with selected alder (!) body in Vintage Blonde finish and Gold Hardware. It’s been a special model created by JC for a dealer event in 2011. It’s got Abigail Ybarra handwound and signed Bone Tone pickups and its super lightweight with only 3260g… well thats what you may expect if you are looking for the best of the best from the Fender Custom Shop. But what we admire – with all our vintage expertise and knowledge – is the accuracy and attention to detail John Cruz had back then in his best Custom Shop years. This guitar really looks and feels like a 59. We had a nice 1959 Strat in Blond finish and many Sunburst versions. They have a very special neck shape which is a bit thinner and grows towards the body. The 60s Oval C he used for this one really reminds you of that original period correct shape, maybe a hint thicker which is a good thing. The body carve with deep 50s contour, the beautiful slab rosewood fingerboard… its a killer Strat. The good thing: it can be yours! Comes incl. original case, COA and special dealer event card signed by John Cruz. The guitar shows so0me mild play wear on the back and the typical dent/imprint from handling the tremolo bar on the lower body front. It’s a guitar – meant to be played. And it sounds wonderful!
