1998 Gibson Les Paul 1958 Reissue Yamano – Lemon Burst

Beautiful “good wood”-era Gibson Custom Shop 1958 Les Paul Figured Top reissue selected by Yamano/Japan. Yamano was the Japanese Gibson distributor until Gibson went direct in Europe and Japan in the late 2000s. The Japanese customers were very devoted and passionated about their Gibson reissues and the distributor visit the Gibson factory with numerous dealers to pick maple tops and have guitars built to their specs long before European dealers did it. So especially early guitars were indeed usually very beautiful and had special finishes or custom options that were only available for the Japanese market. This is a perfect example of a selected outstanding beautiful Les Paul. The 90s Les Pauls had the best maple tops in Gibson history and this one, especially being “just” the R8 looks better than 90% of the R9s you see on the market. No VOS, just an amazing and super thin gloss finish. The guitar is near mint – almost no play wear at all. The pickups have been swapped to Burstbucker #1 and #2 and the capacitors are Orange drops – a typical upgrade many owner did when Gibson updated the Histroic lineup with new pickups. Otherwise it’s all original and includes all the hangtags, warranty card and Yamano paperwork.
Comes including it’s original black Gibson Custom Shop case.
