Killertop 1994 Gibson Custom Shop Historic Collection Les Paul 1959 Reissue. It’s been said that Tom Murphy himself painted the first 200 1959 Reissues in 1994 before he left the company – this one is serial number 9 4315 – making it the 315th guitar in 1994. However, there is a letter by Tom Murphy stating that this guitar could have been painted by him and it surely looks like this is true – it’s got an amazing color and it’s the perfect example why these early/mid 90s Gibson Custom Shop guitars are so sought after and why it’s called the “good-wood”-era! It’s got an amazing maple top with great sunburst color and strong carving. The guitar has some minor dings and dongs and a little finish repair on the back above the switch cavity. It’s got great tone and is very resonant! Comes incl. case.
