This is not the first guitar ever made, its been no around the dinosaurs at all. Reissue Les Paul made by Gibson prior to 1993 when the Custom Shop was officially established as a separate division introducing the “Historic Collection” lineup are in-officially called “Pre-Historics” by collectors. This is a wonderful example of why they are so famous – they are simply the best Les Pauls Gibson offered back then! AAAA Flametops, deep and rich color, just stunning! There are sometimes confused with the Les Paul Classic Plus or Premium Plus since they share the same serial numbers but its relatively easy to autejticate if you know where to look: The Classic will says either LPC+ or LPPP in the pickup cavity but the reissues are stamped REISSUE. Like this one. This one doesn’t have a huge neck, rather a Standard production neck whereas the Classics and the 1960 reissues had a super slim neck. Sounds really nice too! It comes with the original warranty card from the German Gibson distributor mentioning it as 59 Reissue. Comes in newer Custom Shop case.
