1985 Fender Jazz Bass Special PJ-555 – Gun Metallic …first year wide nut!
Super rare 1985 Fender Jazz Bass Special PJ-555 in Gun Metallic, all original and in great condition. Produced only from 85-89, this bass is no longer available and it became famous when Duff McKagan from Guns N’ Roes started using it from the 80s until now. This is the rare first version with the wider nut wiodth – they only did this in 1985, the later ones have the narrow Jazz Bass width. It also has the fat pole piece pickups – this is the exact same model as Duffs bass (the signature model has a wrong bridge pickup placement!). The bass has a unique tone with the TBX tone control and has – besides a lot of tonal variations – that typical scooped mid Duff sound. The bass has been played, so there is some play-wear, a big worn area on the back, but now hidden repairs, cracks or other issues. Black hardware, lightweight, very versatile and this is the “original” made by Fender in 1985! Incl. black case.
