1983 Gibson Les Paul Quilt-top ´59 Standard - Reissue
Extreme rare 1983 Gibson Les Paul Quilt-top ´59 Standard - Reissue, all original and in near mint condition. We´ve never seen one of these models before, the Vintage Guitar Player magazine was writing a report on early Gibson Burst-reissues and there they where talking about a similar one off "Quilt-top" reissue which supposedly was one of the famous "Guitar Trader" models. Fact, this beauty has many features, similar to a Guitar-Trader Les Paul most factory Gibsons didn´t have back then, such as 1-piece neck, 1-piece body, correct details such as top-carving, thin binding in cutaway, small headstock, 17° headstock-angle, old style ABR-bridge with studs directly into the top, 2x Gibson "Tim Shaw" PAF pickups, beautiful bookmatched quilted maple-top and a nice shaped mahagony-neck (not as oversized as on most new Ri´s), inked serialnumber on backside of headstock (The official Gibson serialnumber is impressed at the edge of the electronic compartment), "Gibson" logos hand-cut on a jig saw with the open "b" and "o" inlayed into original spec white holly headstock veneers, real silkscreened "Les Paul Model" logo and many more. For some the beautiful top may be a little "over the top", but it definately is one of the most spectacular Les Pauls we´ve see so far! Comes in brown Gibson case with pink interieur.
