This is a rare bird – a 1982 Gibson Heritage Series Standard 80 as Goldtop version! Built exclusively for the Japanese market this even slightly pre-dates the 30th Anniversary models. Both pickups are Tim Shaws dated to 1980 and 1981. The pickup rings are newer M69 reissues and the pickguard is also a newer replacement. The back of the neck has a partial clear coat overspray – otherwise its original with untouched sold joints, original Grover tuners and Schaller bridge. Great vintage look and vibe! There is a sticker on the back of the headstock reading “Authorized Instrument Nihon Gibson”. Really nice example – comes in 90s Gibson case.
