1981 Gibson Explorer E/2 CMT – Cherry Sunburst
1981 Gibson Explorer E/2 CMT – Cherry Sunburst incl. black hardshell case
1981 Gibson Explorer E2 in very good condition for its age. Only some minor playwear and little dings, mostly on the backside of the body and the gold-plating of the hardware is a little dull, typical for a almost 40 (!) year old instrument. The E/2 Explorer was only made in ´81-84 and came with bound, figured maple top, 3-piece flamed maple neck. There are a couple of holes, which have been professionally filled, probably from some kind of a former Trem-system, also one aditional hole in the pickguard. The trussrodcover is a newer replacement and the two high-output Gibson "Dirty Finger" pickups have been replaced with two original Seymour Duncan humbuckers (´59 and J.Beck), which actually sound very good in that guitar and even make it a bit more versatile, great sound and very comfortable to play. Including black hardshell case.
