1980s Moonstone Exploder – Natural

Rare 1980s Moonstone Exploder in Natural finish, built by luthier Steve Helgeson California/USA. Steve began building acoustic instruments in an old shingle mill located in Moonstone Heights/California in 1972.All Moonstone instruments where made of highly figured woods, the neck of this Exploder is a "neck-thru" construction, with two mahogany wings, both sides topped with highly figured birdseye maple. The two-piece neck has a rosewood fretboard with 24 frets and pearl dot inlays. Gold hardware, bad-ass bridge and two DiMarzio pickups, two volume, 1x tone and a phase-switch. Great sound with lots of sustain, surprisingly the weight is not too heavy. The guitar is in excellent condition for its age, only minor play-wear and no weather checkings, the original frets are still in great shape. Comes in black hardshell case.
