1977 Gibson The Les Paul – Winered

Introduced at the 1975 Namm Show as the ultimate Les Paul… produced from 1976 – 1979 “The Les Paul” is a unique piece of art and the top-of-the-line model of all 1970s Les Pauls! Made of specially sourced Austrian maple top, back and sides with a mahogany core, multiply wooden binding and hand made wooden parts the construction of this guitar is very complicated and the guitar was very expensive even back then ($3199 – which would be $17.200 today!) The fretboard is made of ebony and rosewood, the pickups are “Super Humbuckers”…only 77 have been poduced and only 18 are Wine Red – just like this wonderful example with Reg. No. 34. Since its an earlier/mid production model, serialized in August 1977, it still has all the wooden parts – since Gibson ran out of high quality material for this very special run, later models had plastic knobs or brass nuts. A highly collectible Les Paul, THE Les Paul – and the first Wine Red colored we’ve had. Comes with original case and warranty card.
