1974 Gibson Les Paul
Goldtop / Humbucker Conversion
Art.Nr. Vi74GiLPGTHB507283x
Super cool 1974 Gibson Les Paul – Goldtop, early humbucker conversion in excellent condition. According to the previous owner, this conversion has allready been done in the 70s, it has been professionally routed and converted for humbucking pickups (back then Goldtop Les Pauls where only available with mini-humbuckers!). The pickups used are one Gibson Burstbucker 2 in the neck-position and a Seymour Duncan Jeff Beck for sufficient “drive” in the bridge-psoition. The Tune-O-Matic bridge and Stop-tail piece have been upgraded with Tone-Pro parts. The tuners are Grover Rotomatics, all parts are nickel! The neck is unusal chunky, comparable to a 58 profil, but with great playability. The frets have been professionally renewed with medium-jumbos which has changed playbility dramatically, adjusted for low action. The guitar is rather on the light side for a 70s Les Paul, with a weight of only 4,13Kg (remember: all solid – no weight-reliefe holes or chambering!). The tone of this Goldtop is amazing, lots of sustain, warm, transparent and open, closer to an older Les Paul than any Custom Shop guitar. Comes in a original but newer black Gibson LP case.
