1974 Gibson L5S Flamed Maple - Cherry Sunburst

1974 Gibson L5S in excellent condition and all original. Only minor play wear, there is some missing color/wear on the edge of the body next to the pots and the gold-plating on the hardware show the typical wear, especially the bridge and tailpiece. The L5S came out in 1973 and was actually a "solid-body version" of Gibson succesfull L5 Jazzguitar and features a lot of similar appointments such as the highly flamed 5-piece maple neck and body, the multi-bound 24 3/4"scale ebony fretboard, the extensively-styled L-5 headstock with famous flower-pot inlay and 6x Kluson "Sealfast" machine-heads. The L5S was by far Gibson most expensive electric guitar back then. The two Gibson "Tarback" Humbuckers  deliver a nice and warm sound and measure 7,41K8B) and 5,68K(N) Pot Codes read 1377412 so 12 th week of 1974. The Gibson L5S turned out to be not very succesfull, even so many famous players could be seen with a L5S such as Pat Matino, Keith Richard, Mark Farner (Grand Funk), Ron Wood, Neil Schon (Journey) and many others. The weight is rather light with 4,30Kg. Incl. orig. Gibson hardshell case with purple lining.
