Wonderful early 1970 Gibson Les Paul Custom Black Beauty in Ebony finish. We purchased the guitar from the second owner who bought it in 1974 in Germany. What a great guitar – he played it constantly since then and there is no doubt why…it such a great sounding and feeling guitar! Still the late 60s finish, different than the 70s finish with the “old” style appearance and checking – not comparable even to the 71 models. The old top carve, the full round neck profile. Super lightweight for that period with only 4,2Kg! The frets are newer Jumbo frets, it’s been Plek’d and plays just perfect! the toggle switch has been changed cause the original one broke – it even comes with the guitar. Otherwise all original, no breaks, no oversprays, lightweight stoptail, ABR bridge, two patent sticker humbuckers (bridge pickup cover has been off at some point). Amazing guitar that is a lot more a late 60s than an 70s model. Three piece neck and sandwich body, small volute, no “Made in USA” stamp yet. Still the 1969 Gibson “open b and open 0” Logo! Comes incl. original case.
