1969 Gibson Les Paul Custom – Ebony – 1968 specs!!!

All original 1969 Gibson Les Paul Custom – Ebony in very good condition, serial number 559499. In 1968 Gibson re-issued the Les Paul Custom guitar for the first time after it was discontinued in 1960. It was introduced at the Summer Namm in July 1968. The first models featured rare specs that are very close to the famous models from the golden era in the 50s. This is why they became very collectible guitars. This very early 1969 Les Paul Custom features all the desireable 1968 specs such as: 1-piece body, 1-piece neck, long neck-tenon, 2x well-balanced "Pat.-Nr. sticker" humbucking pickups with outputs of 7,56K and 7,76K. All 4 pots are stamped 137.68.50 (50nd week of 1968) and all solder joints are completely untouched. The guitar has some typical weatherchecking on the glass-like black piano lacquer which give it a great appearance. There is some minor playwear and some dings and dongs but there are no cracks, repairs or other hidden damages. The tuners had been converted to Grovers but the original Kluson Wafflebacks are back on. It has a nice medium weight with 4,56Kg and the neck has a round C-shape, similiar to the typical round late 50s necks everybody loves. This guitar sounds outstanding – it's true tone monster and represents the end of an era – one of the very last Gibson Les Pauls built to original 50s specs in existence! Comes in it's original black Gibson case with yellow plush.
