1969 Gibson Les Paul Custom Black Beauty - Ebony

Here it is.. one of the most sought after Les Pauls during the last years...a 1969 Les Paul Custom with most 1968 specs. Only a very very limited quantity of "real" 1968 Customs exist and they have most of the desired features of the 50s. This is a wonderful example of why many players and collectors love the late 60s Les Pauls so much. First of all - the whole appearance of these guitars ia a LOT different than the early 70s Les Pauls. They feel different. The lacquer is different. The top carve is much more pronounced and the lacquer checking is super nice. maybe this is more important than the wood construction most people use to judge the guitars...those who know, know. This example has the one-piece neck and one-piece body. The neck tenon is the transitional tenon, just before the switched to three-piece necks. Of course missing i-dot as all 1969 models and the 52th week of 68 pots, like all 69s that share 68 specs. The guitar has a changed output jack plate, it's been soldered (solder work on pots and pickup covers have been off) and it's been played - which makes it feel just right. Perfect example of a late 60s Custom - actually one of the first Les Paul Customs that Gibson made with the maple top! Comes incl. a little later 70s hardcase,
