1969 Gibson ES-345 TDSV – Sparkling Burgundy Metallic

How cool is this guitar? Rare Sparkling Burgundy Metallic finished 1969 Gibson ES-345 TDSV. It’s an early 1969 model which means it shares the specs with the post 65 ES models and has all 60s features – one piece mahogany neck, long neck tenon and ABR bridge. It has been converted to stoptail for improved tone and sustain – long go, there is a dark shadow of unfaded finish under the tailpiece. Talking about the finish: the Burgundy colored guitars all usually all over the place, most faded to a rather brownish hue but this one still has a strong but also slightly faded color – looks really nice! The ES-345is one of the best looking guitars in that finish due to the gold hardware and multiply binding. It has a nice luxurious but also very vibey vintage appearance. Deep weather-checking all over. It once had Schaller tuners but the original tuners are back on. The pickup covers have been off so we took them off again to see whats underneath and found a set of original non-T-Top square hole post-PAF humbuckers with maroon wire – really cool! It’s been refretted. Other than the above its original, modified long time ago and surely loved by its former owner Dennis (who wrote his name into the cavities and scratched his Texan social security number below the serial number on the back of the headstock. this is one of those guitars you don’t find all the time – a very special and rare piece that has been loved and played because it sounds and feels just right! Comes in newer case.
