1964 Gibson Thunderbird IV Reverse Bass – Sunburst

1964 Gibson Thunderbird IV Reverse Bass – Sunburst

Arguably Gibsons greatest and most desirable bass, this 1964 Gibson Thunderbird IV Reverse Bass in Sunburst has had an old headstock-crack repair, besides that it´s in all original and super condition for its over 50 years. This is one of only 235 Thunderbird IV basses built in 1964, one of the most sought-after basses from the 60s. The bass has some minor playwear, mostly on the backside and edges of the body and some moderate weatherchecking typical for a 50 year old instrument. The electronic is all original, the two Gibson humbucking PUs deliver that deep, dark growl those basses are famous for and have well ballanced outputs of: Neck = 7,81 K-Ohm and Bridge = 7,96 K-Ohm. With its slim c-profile neck and a weight of only 4,1 Kg, this bass is very comfortable and fun to play! Priced lower for the headstock-repair, otherweise T-birds from that year are priced between 10,5K-13,1K according to the 2015 Vintage Price Guide! Comes in its original black Gibson hardshell case w/yellow interior.
