1964 Gibson ES-335 TD – Cherry

This guitar’s got serious vibes.
It’s a 1964 Gibson ES-335 TD in Cherry finish—and while we probably shouldn’t say it… yeah, it’s that guitar. The Clapton one. Well, not his exactly—his was from an earlier batch (#67473), and this one’s #69539. But both are from 1964 and share the exact same specs.

This one’s been through some changes over the years and it’s been played a lot—but all the important parts are still here. It has new frets (which is a good thing), and it plays beautifully. Sounds incredible, too.

Before we get into the specs: this is genuinely a fantastic-sounding, great-playing guitar. We swear.

It’s got the original “post-PAF-sticker / still-PAF-spec / pre-T-Top” humbuckers (covers had been off). The stoptail is original, but it’s been customized in a clever way. Think of it as a kind of TonePros prototype—a previous owner made by drilling a small thread into the stoptail ears. No negative effect on anything but we need to mention it. The bridge is an earlier 50s non-wire ABR-1 but the bridge studs and thumbwheels as well as the nylon saddles and screws are newer replacements.

At some point, it had a Bigsby (or something similar), and that area’s been touched up. But that’s part of the charm. This isn’t a case queen—this is a rock ‘n’ roll machine with mojo for days.

Original finish, killer feel, and yeah—it’s got that magic.

Comes with the original case.
