1962 Gibson Les Paul/SG Standard
Cherry
Art.Nr. Vi62GiSGSTD80471
Super clean and beautiful 1962 Gibson Les Paul/SG Standard with rare pearl inlayed ebony block Vibrola tremolo. Technically it’s still a Les Paul model which replaced the Sunburst Les Paul in late 1960 and still has the “Les Paul” engraved on the trussrod cover which disappeared in 1963. The SG/Les Pauls came with different vibrato systems, the barely functional Sideways vibrato was pretty much the Standard but it was also available a short Bigsby or Vibrola with ebony block. The ebony block versions a super rare and look really amazing. This one is super clean and shows barely any wear. The front faded a bit but the back is still bright red. It’s a lightweight guitar with only 3,19Kg and n nice round neck profile, not as thin as most early 60s models. The two original PAF humbuckers never had their covers off and read 7,61K(B) and 7,82K(N). Great instrument with great potential for every collection! Comes incl. original case and copy of original invoice from the first owner in 1966.
