1960 Gibson Les Paul Standard
Sunburst
Art.Nr. GI60LPSTD-08360
One of the last Sunburst Les Pauls made before Gibson switched to the new body design (SG)! This is a super clean example of the last ‘Burst series and it’s just amazing! Its been kept in the case almost all of its life and the finish is still as it left the factory. Beautiful flamed maple top, really stunning in different angles! There is no fading at all – being a late 1960 Les Paul it has the fade-resistant finish but some more played models show a bit of fading too. This is like new. The original owner put on a Bigsby which is very often the case but shortly after it was used with a stoptail again. This causes the famous “snakebite” holes on the top and bottom. The pickup covers have been off, we carefully inspected the pickups and found a set of original Zebra PAF humbuckers under the original pickup covers – which still can be found in later 1960. We put the covers back on but took some nice pics with the exposed coils. The neck is the typical slim taper neck, plays really comfortable and fast, the frets are also original, already the bigger wire introduced in early/mid 1959. Comes incl. original 5-latch Lifton case.
