1960 Gibson Les Paul Custom - Cherry Red ...Super Rare

This is a once in a lifetime guitar... one of only six original Gibson Les Paul Customs Gibson made in 1959/1960 with cherry red finish. There are no official shipping totals since the Gibson factory of this period are still missing but it's well known that Gibson did two runs of Les Paul Customs - one in solid cherry and one in see through cherry finish. It's also known that 6 guitars in this finish were shipped by Hagström in Sweden as custom order. This beautiful example has the "Made in the USA" imprint above the serial number which all official export models had back then for customs purposes. The see through cherry finish shows the all-mahogany one-piece body construction and simply looks amazing! The guitar is all original and untouched. There are some small repaired cracks on the right wing of the headstock between the machine heads which are 100% stable. It shows some wear, especially on the back of the neck but in general the guitar is nice and clean. The pots have untouched solder joints and read 134.59.47 (47th week of 1959), the three original PAF humbuckers never had the covers off and measure 7,94K(N), 8,29K(M) and 8,34K(B). The weight of 4,39 is typical for a Custom. Being such a rare guitar it's a true collector's piece for sure and will improve every serious guitar collection. For further details please call.
