1960 Gibson Les Paul Custom Black Beauty – Ebony

Beautiful late 1960 Gibson Les Paul Custom in excellent condition. One of the last batches of Les Paul Customs made, late 1960 pot codes and 6 digit ink stamped serial number, the earliest Les Paul/SGs have already been in production. A wonderful guitar, lightweight (just under 4Kg) and all original besides a small old clear coat touch up over a worn spot on the back of the neck – already blacklights. Original stoptail model, no Bigsby holes! Everything else is spot on, untouched solder joints, the pickup covers have never been off. The neck is typical for late 1960 on the slimmer side but feels really comfortable, especially with the rounded fingerboard edges. Original fretless wonder frets, two larger marks of a guitar stand that melted into the finish on the back of the neck and some typical play wear and weather checking. Just right to give it that mojo we all love. There is a silk screen of the original shop it was sold “Forbes” and the business card of the store owner. The guitar comes with appraisal from George Gruhn who sold it back in 2009. It also comes with all the hang tags you could ask for, original strap and even the original and very sought after 1960 Gibson catalog – crazy! Of course including the original case. The light weight and the full package with straight history of this guitar makes this guitar one of the best available on the market! Go through all the pictures, there are a lot!
