1960 Fender Stratocaster - Sunburst
1960 Fender Stratocaster in Sunburst finish. Here you have your desert island guitar - everything you can ask for when it comes to a rosewood board Stratocaster...It's been played a lot and doesn't hide it - it's got the right amount of wear and mojo to make it look as cool as it gets. The guitar is all original without any modifications. It's right in the middle of the slabboard period which started in may 1959 and lasted for almost exactly 2 years til July/August 1962. The neck is penciled 5-60 and has a big round profile - as opposed to earlier slabboard necks which have the thinnest profile in Fender history. It has been refretted with 6105 fret wire. The body is dated 4-60 and the pots read 304.60.20 (20th week of 1960). It's fairly lightweight with 3,26kg and really sounds even better than it looks - it has that warm and sweet chocolate tone that breaks up to a fat midrange honk when you hit the string a bit harder. The three black bottom pickups read 5,37K (B), 5,72K (M) and 5,62K (N). Comes in it's original brown case including the tremolo cavity backplate.
