1960 D’Angelico New Yorker Cutaway – Chinery Collection

This 1960 D’Angelico New Yorker Cutaway was part of the legendary Chinery collection and is pictured in the Chinery book. The 18″ size New Yorker Cutaway is one of the most desired of all D’Angelico guitars an equivalent to Gibsons Super 400 and introduced in 1948. This wonderful example was finished on January 15 in 1960 and is made of stunningly flamed maple on neck, back and sides and a carved spruce top with x-bracing. It has the classic headstock design with skyscraper trussrod cover. Unfortunately the original pickguard is missing (you can already tell on the picture in the book that it was in poor condition) the replacement is made by Mirabella in New York, possibly the closest thing to the original. Comes incl. case. Book is not included!
