1956 Gibson Les Paul Standard – Goldtop

This is a true Rock’n’Roll survivor: Early 1956 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop that literally witnessed rock history. It’s been played by at least two players for decades and every single scratch, every mark proves that it was loved every single night on stage. This is what we’re talking about when we say “heavy aged” – there is no way someone could replicate this. The guitar was shipped in January 1956 from Gibson Kalamazoo to Massapequa Music in New York – we have the shipping ledger entry for 6 1191. It’s actually all original besides a second hole for upper strap pin, a changed poker chip and switch tip, as well as the jack plate and jack cable shielding. It once has Schaller tuners but the original tuners are back on… not many changes for a guitar that has been played that much, right? That proves the quality of reliability of those 50s golden era Les Pauls! Do we need to mention how good it sounds, how good that neck feels? We believe the pictures speak for themselves… the guitar is break free, has original finish, original late 55 Centralab pots, still the short studs (no forward leaning tailpieces with this ABR layout). The original ABR-1 bridge has a broken low-e-string saddle screw – we left it as it is since the metal already “melted” together. Killer guitar, unique piece and if a guitar has “mojo”… forget about the rest. This is the definition of that word. Comes incl. original Gibson Geib case.
